" The greatest victory in life is that when you fight to injustice, fight for immoralities and fight for your right" according to the celebrant during the homily on the the 494th Kadaugan Sa Mactan Celebration.
There were lots of street parties, food trips and delicacies and more but the highlight of the said occasion was the the victorious battle of Lapu-Lapu against the Spanish invader , Magellan. Lapu-Lapu is said to be the first Philippine hero because he fought against Magellan bravely. There was a mass and was attended by the honorable officials of Lapu-Lapu, government employees and of course the Oponganons. There was a flag raising headed by our mayor of Lapu-Lapu City, Hon. Paz Radaza. Many spectators coming from different places witnessed the reenactment of the Battle of Mactan. The highlight was not the battle but how Lapu-Lapu defeated Magellan and his men.
